This blog is the fourth of a four-part series that identifies how BoldtSmith Packaging can reduce your product damage and packaging costs thru selecting the right foam!
Part #1) Supply Chain
Part #2) Foam Type
Part #3) Foam Density
Part #4) Foam Design
Part #4 – Foam Design
The foam design is the final step in creating a successful foam design to protect the product during shipping. The design takes into account all the information discovered in the supply chain, foam type and foam density.
The process in which we create a foam design is broken down into the four steps:
- Create several foam designs that are tested to a protocol that matches the supply chain.
- If we have failures during testing, we will re-design the foam to fix these issues.
- If we have passes during testing, we will re-design the foam to take cost out of the design.
- We continue this process until we believe we have a foam design that is cost efficient and passes the transit testing protocol.
