In a recent project, we were hired to maximize the number of products our customer is fitting on a container WITHOUT changing the size of the box. By ONLY changing the orientation in which the product ships we were able to fit 20% more product into a shipping container.
Our customer has an annual quantity of 700,000 units and a fixed price of $3,000 per container. Annually this results in a $486,000 cost savings in freight. We have been hired to further explore these opportunities for other product categories within their business.
